The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended December 30, 2007, is Keith Gavin, a senior at the University of Pittsburgh.  Gavin, from Factoryville, PA, was NCAA runner-up last season, and is aiming for the top of the podium at the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

This past weekend Mr. Gavin, ranked number one in the nation at 174 pounds, cruised through the powerful Midlands Tournament, winning five bouts.  After registering four straight decisions, Gavin majored Jay Borschel of the University of Iowa by a score of 13-4 in the finals.  Gavin passed the 100 career-win mark during the event, and his five wins upped his undefeated season W/L mark to 17-0.

Congratulations to Keith Gavin, our EWL Wrestler of the Week.  Get on out and support your favorite amateur wrestling team this season.  Remember - America needs Wrestling!  Thank you.
