The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended January 27, 2008, is Zac Fryling, a senior at West Virginia University, from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Zac, who competes at 157 pounds for the Mountaineers, is a three-time EWL place winner and three-time NCAA qualifier, who is aiming for All-Americanship this season at the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
Each year the EWL has an intra-league dual meet championship. West Virginia, looking to win that title, wrestled its first two EWL dual meets this past week, and won both matches. The Mountaineers wrestled Clarion on January 24 and Bloomsburg on January 25. Nationally ranked Mr. Fryling helped his team to wins in both of those meets, decisioning Clarion's Travis Uncapher 13-6, and Bloomsburg ace Matt Moley 3-1 (SV).
Congratulations to Zac Fryling, our EWL Wrestler of the Week.
