Lock Haven University's Obe Blanc

The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended November 26, 2006, is Obe Blanc, a junior from Naples, Florida, who competes in the 125-pound weight class for Lock Haven University.  Mr. Blanc won the 2005 PSAC title, grabbed the 2006 EWL crown, and won a total of 57 bouts those two years.

This past weekend Lock Haven hosted its annual Mat-Town Tournament (this year an open event), and nationally ranked Blanc won the title at 125 pounds.  Obe slicked his way to the finals with a tech fall, a 7-0 shut-out, and an 8-3 decision.  In the finals Mr. Blanc beat bluechip redshirt freshman, Ross Gitomer, of the University of Virginia, by a score of 7-4.

Congratulations to Obe Blanc, our Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week!

The EWL also would like to tip its headgear to LHU's Seth Martin, who won the Mat-Town crown at 157.  Mr. Martin bested Penn State's Nate Galloway 6-3 in the championship final.
