WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY

Our Eastern Wrestling League Wrestlers of the Week for the week ended February 24, 2002, are the members of the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

Last weekend West Virginia, under head coach Craig Turnbull, won their final two EWL dual meets of the year, beating Cleveland State by a score of 19-14 on Saturday and Edinboro by 31-3 on Sunday. With those two wins, WVU completed its EWL dual-meet season undefeated (7-0) and, thus, won the 2002 Eastern Wrestling League Dual-Meet Championship. Stalwarts this season for WVU were Nathan Kendjorsky at 125, Brandon Lauer at 133, Shane Cunanan at 141, Billy Smith at 149, Joe Carr at 157, Tom Mc Math at 165, Greg Jones at 174, Ryan Wilman at 184, Brent Miller at 197 and Ryan Kehler at hwt.
